Kia Ora Everyone! I will share you about Starry Teller she went in Mars


1.In your own words, summarise what happens at the Mars Desert Research Centre.

There are lot of things happened at the Mars Desert Research the crew stay at the station for two weeks and they live like astronauts do, they wore spacesuit when they were going out. They are learning more about geology, biology and astronomy also some learning about the challenges.


2.What did Haritina find difficult about being at the research centre? Why?

They are living 24/7 in unfamiliar hab and it's completely foreign environment.

3.Why do you think it is important for astronauts to practice in an environment like this before heading into Space

It is important to practice in an environment where they can wear the space suit before heading into space.They should know also what food needed and how to practice the radio for communication purposes.

MEAN,MEDIAN,MODE

Kia Ora! Everyone I will share what we learned in Maths , our teacher discussed how to get the mean ,median and mode. I will explain how to solve it

MEAN

In  getting the mean you have to add all the numbers given and divide by the numbers

 Example:

                    2+5+4+3+6=20           20 divided by 5=4       4 is the mean

MEDIAN

To get the median  arrange the numbers given from smallest to biggest and check what numbers in the middle.

Example:  2,4,6,8,10      6 is the median

If there are six number given we need to add the two numbers in the middle and divide it by two

Example: 

                    2,4,6,8,10,12        6+8=14      14 diveded by 2 is 7

MODE

To get the mode just check the most frequent number in a row of numbers.
Example:
                            2,2,4,4,4,6,8,10.12           Mode is 4   
                 
                 If in case  2,4,6,8,10,12  and there's no repeated number in a row just write no mode.

GOLD RUSH

Hi Everyone! I will share you my idea about Gold Rush it is about how to find a gold in  in other
place like rivers,lakes.To find a gold you need to mine and if you finish to mining need to  wash it by a water so that you can see there's a gold.I found the story interesting because i learned how the miner finding a gold.

Hunters Gold

1.What does the scenery look like in Hunter gold? use descriptive words.

The scenery in the hunters gold video looks like beautiful because of the mountain and the water flows in river was clear . The place is simple small town where the people knew each other.

2.How do you think the little boy when his father didn't return?why do you think it felt that way?

I think that boy was so sad because his father need to work in other place and he was eager to see him.

3.Think of time that you haven't seen  someone for a long time. who was it? why couldn't you see them? How were you feeling while you waited to see them again?

I haven't seen my grandparent for 5 months already since i arrived here in NZ. Because my grandparent live in the Philippines. I am missing them a lot and i hope  to see them again.

MARS ROVER LAUNCH

Hi everyone! In our Hurumanu 3 we did some writing about Mars Rover Launch and it has an interesting facts and information which I learnt more.

What does rover mean? A Rover is a planetary surface exploration device designed to find something on Mars. The rover went  to detect and avoid hazardous terrain. 

The Rovers launched to Mars on 30th July 2020 the NASA Mars Exploration Program. 

What are some of the features about Mars? Mars is a red planet, Mars is the second smallest planet in the solar system. Mars is the fourth planet closest to the sun. We are the neighbour planet with Mars.

What is perseverance? Perseverance is the name of the rover, It means despite difficulty in achieving success in doing something. 

Sleeping

Kia Ora! For today we talked about Getting Enough Sleep.We have to sleep early because our body need rest and ready for tomorrow activity . Have an energy and strength.

1. We get enough sleep 8-10 hours as a teenager.

2.I woke up at 7 am to prepare my thing in going to school,and go to sleep at 9 pm.I have enough sleep because it takes 10 hours.

3.Four ways of quality of sleep :
  * Study earlier and prepare everything for school.
  *Avoid playing active games and watch movies or play gadgets.
  *Avoid chatting with friend late at night.
  * Have a regular bedtime to follow.

4.It's very important to get a good sleep each night because it will help us to be more active in school,participate in physical activities.

Healthy Life

Kia Ora! We are learning today about preparing a healthy meal that need by our body,and it should be nutritious  which help us more active and well.

Vegetables + Fruit - at least 3 servings of vege and 2 servings of fruit every day 

Grain foods - 6 servings each day (check portion sizes)

Milk/Milk products - 2 servings

Legumes/Nuts/Seeds/Fish/Seafood/Eggs/Poultry/Meat etc. - 2 servings 

When you have created your meal plan, please highlight each food based on the colours provided above. This will help us clearly see where each of the food groups has fit in. Remember, you want each meal to be a balanced plate.

Bonus research: how many glasses of water should we have each day? Fit this into your meal plan. 

Breakfast	2 slices of Bread,1 pc Scrambled egg,1 cup of Milk ,medium  Banana.
Lunch	Half cup of Rice,1 ¼ nibbles Chicken, ¼ Carrots and beans,1 glass Lemonade.
Snack	1 pc Tuna sandwich.1 pc Orange,Small pack of Nuts,1 glassWater.
Dinner	½ Macaroni Pasta,1 pc pork chopMeat,medium Apple,A cup of Tea
Water	How many servings per day? We should drink 8 glasses of water every day. How do you think you could fit these in besides just at meal times?  Drink 1 to 2 glasses of water after eating breakfast,lunch, snack and dinner.      Drink 1 glass of water when you wake up in the morning. Drink 1 glass of water before going to sleep.

I find this activity challenging because I need to think how many serving needed in a food every meal.

Communication in space
