Healthy Life

Kia Ora! We are learning today about preparing a healthy meal that need by our body,and it should be nutritious  which help us more active and well.


Vegetables + Fruit - at least 3 servings of vege and 2 servings of fruit every day 
Grain foods - 6 servings each day (check portion sizes)
Milk/Milk products - 2 servings
Legumes/Nuts/Seeds/Fish/Seafood/Eggs/Poultry/Meat etc. - 2 servings 

When you have created your meal plan, please highlight each food based on the colours provided above. This will help us clearly see where each of the food groups has fit in. Remember, you want each meal to be a balanced plate.
Bonus research: how many glasses of water should we have each day? Fit this into your meal plan. 

Breakfast
2 slices of Bread,1 pc Scrambled egg,1 cup of Milk ,medium  Banana.
Lunch
Half cup of Rice,1 ¼ nibbles Chicken, ¼ Carrots and beans,1 glass Lemonade.
Snack
1 pc Tuna sandwich.1 pc Orange,Small pack of Nuts,1 glassWater.
Dinner
½ Macaroni Pasta,1 pc pork chopMeat,medium Apple,A cup of Tea
Water
How many servings per day? We should drink 8 glasses of water every day.
How do you think you could fit these in besides just at meal times? 
  • Drink 1 to 2 glasses of water after eating breakfast,lunch, snack and dinner.   
  •   Drink 1 glass of water when you wake up in the morning.
  • Drink 1 glass of water before going to sleep.

I find this activity challenging because I need to think how many serving needed in a food every meal.
and to how to prepare meals.

Communication in space

Flags

Hi everyone! In our Hurumanu 1 class we had Communication Challenge we learned how to use the following forms of communication. I did flag signals by cutting two coloured papers into square shapes and put a stick at one side of the paper. I practised the Semaphore Flag Signals with my chosen animal word and let my partner guess the word.
                        

Primary and Secondary source

Hi everyone I will share you what is primary and secondary sources. A primary source is an Artifact, document, diary, manuscript, autobiography and recording. A secondary source are sources like books about history of events.To know between primary and secondary is different views because one should be an original while the other one is a product of the primary source.

Hurumanu 3 Science

Hi Everyone! In term 3 we have  Science subject and our first lesson is about  Mars i will share some information about the topic through answering some of the questions.

  1. When can a mission to Mars (or from Mars) happen? Why?
    A mission happen to Mars is every twenty-six month because Mars is around
five hundred times further away than the moon.
2. What are two geological features of Mars? The two geological of feature of
Mars is know as the red planet because of its colours and cause by large amount
of iron oxide.
3. What is one possible solution from the story about oxygen on Mars?
One possible about the story of oxygen on Mars to split water in to hydrogen
gas.
4. If it doesn’t rain on Mars, where does the water come from?
The water comes from ice underground a tiny amount of water flow on planet
surface.
5.How will people get food on Mars? What is a possible solution?
They have a way to grow foods without soil because of the warm temperature
so they get food from there greenhouse that they made where planted some
crops.

Hurumanu 4

Hi Everyone! for the last day of term 2 we did  some Reflection on our course Hurumanu  2 Poetic Arts. I enjoyed all the activities in Hurumanu I also learned a lot of lesson or topics most especially about Maori story because they showed their culture.With the help of my lovely teachers I learned how to do the Haiku and Diamante poems and did the art works. It was an interesting and fun activities.
I hope there will be different activities in term 3 and 4.

  •  We did Haiku poems and Diamante poems.
  •  We did weaving and Water Colouring.
  • We did a Tapa cloth.
What I Learned: 
  •  I learned to use adjectives,nouns,and verbs in making a Diamante poem.
  •  I learned how to make weaving by using warm or cool colours.
  • I learned about the Maori story Tuna and Taniwha and Rakaia Gorge.
My Favourite Part:
  • My favourite part is the water colouring because I tried mixing different colours.
  • I also enjoyed the weaving because it is fun and interesting.
  • I like listening to the Maori story.
My Next Steps:
  •  I will manage my online blogging and have quality posts.
  •  I will be  more creative in doing art work.
  • I will learn more vocabulary words.

Collage

Hello readers I will show you my work in our Hurumanu class Art  our teacher explained to us what is collage and how to make it . We used different texture in making the collage and attach colourful paper which is combination of analogous and  warm colour.We made the collage about the story Taniwha and the Rakaia Gorge.I followed the procedure in making the collage.

100 Words Challenge

Hello readers  I will be doing my 100 words about the bear in the picture.
The big brown bear with fluffy fur has a family living in dark place near the forest.                               
The bear is trying to catch some fish for his family because they haven't eaten for three days.One day the bear woke up and went to the forest to find some food for his family.While going to the forest he saw the bird  and trying to chase . The bear splashed  to the water and looking some fish and saw a huge eel .He also got some fruits from the forest . The bear went home to his family happy because they have a lot of food to eat.

Staying Afloat

Hello readers! in our Reading class I read  about the story of Staying Afloat and I answered the question .At first the main characters are Kele,Vika and Grandad .They will be going to the sea and do some fishing and an accident happened during their stay in the middle of the sea but they survived. 
The story was interesting and I enjoyed reading it.

Here are questions I answered:

Describe Vika's personality
Vika is relative of Kele and she go with them to help get some fish.
Describe Kele's personality.
Kele is a stubborn boy he always not listening to his Grandad.
Why did Vika's face go scarlet?
Because she leaned back winding her reel Furiously .
How did Kele feel about Grandad's old fishing story?
Kele  is happy and interested.
Predict what would happen if Kele wasn't wearing his life jacket...
Kele will not be safe and he will be drown  into  the sea.
What is a Kupenga?
Kupenga is a long fishing net used by a fisher man
it could catch the fish easily.

Time line of the story

First - Grandad, kele and Vika preparing to sail the boat into the sea.

Second- Grandad find the spot for fishing and he lowered down the Kupenga.


Third- Grandad share the story about his fishing time before and the two were interested 
in listening and ask some question.

Fourth-Vika fishing  line went tight and she cried Kele shouted leaping to his feet and yanking the line


Fifth - The boat rocked suddenly and kele screamed Vika trying to help kele floating away and Gradad pulled him toward the boat he was saved.
