Drama Class

Hello readers! this week in our drama class we learned about  the story of Benny.
We performed in drama class a dialog with my partner. The following questions were asked:

                  *Are you okay about what happened to your son?
                  *Are your son is OK?
                  *What really happened to your son?
                  *Are you Anxious about having you son to the water?
                  * Are you mad at benny of what happened to your son?

Poetric Art

Hello everyone I will share about what we did in Art Hururmanu , We did a final design of all our art works which are waving , collage , art chacoal and we did poems .The part of my Art display I am most proud of is Collage because I created the design out of story Taniwha and the Rakaia Gorge.Some thing that Challenge me in this Art/ writing  Hurumanu was the poem Especially the Diamante poem  because I use a verbs, Adjective,and noun. My favourite style of poetry to write was Haiku because i made a poem about nature.

I learned a lot in this Art Hurumanu and a lot of interesting works that I enjoyed.

Diamante Poem

Hello readers! I will share to you about we did in  hurumanu class  First we discussed about Diamante Poem. A Diamante poem is a poem that is written in the shape of a diamond. It can be written based on topic of interest, or an object or person and diamante poem is made up of seven lines. Each line has a set structure  which create  the shape o diamond which this poem is well know for. We are learning this kind of poem because this could help us to think creatively .

I planned my Diamante poem on the sheet and i choose the Beginning topic Taniwha and I follow the structure in making diamante poem.

      Line 1- starting subject.
      Line 2-Two words describing line 1.
      Line 3- Three doings word (verb) about line 1.
      Line 4-a short phrase about the line 1 and a short phrase about the line 7.
      Line 5-three doing word (verb) about the line 7.
      Line 6-two describing word (adjective) about line 7.
      Line 7-Ending subject.
       
   I created my Diamante poem.

Benny

Hello Readers know our class in Drama we talk about the story Benny.the mother is worried because of what happened to his son and his friend on the beach.The mother is mad and sad because his son sad and Benny and his friend not fine with  each other.Benny is emotional of what happened and he is mad
in first page Benny and his friend fine each other in the second they are walking everywhere third they mad each other and Benny push his friend they talk  and at last Benny left his friend and go home.

Water colouring

Hello readers I enjoyed our class art today we did some Water colouring ms'B explained and showed how to do example of  Blend,Drip,Salt and Splat.I choose a colour red,green,blue in blending I mixed  two colour green and blue with the use of water.

ASK EDDIE

Kia Ora Readers! The story that I picked this week in our Hurumanu 2  is the  Ask Eddie. The story is about the Maori student that doesn't know how to speak the Maori language but he is talented boy and good in painting. I will tell you more about the story by answering some question.


Describe Eddie Personality
Eddie is shy because he doesn't know how to speak Maori language and he is good at painting.
How did Eddie feel when the class ask him what a powhiri is?why?
He felt sad and shy when the teacher ask him because even he is Maori he did not know the word Powhiri.
How does Eddie feel when koro tu comes back to school again?why?
 He was happy when he came back to school again because He will teach  the student about Maori song the Waiata .
How does the author feel about culture
I think the Author loved culture that why he made the story ASK EDDIE and maybe his related to the story.
Explain what happens with Eddies Picture and how he felt.
In the picture of Eddie he felt sad and shy because of what they talking  at school.
what is a Kura/powhiri/koha/paepae?
*Kura means a school typically one where lessons are conducted in Maori.
*A powhiri is a Maori Welcoming ceremony involving speeches singing,dancing,and finally the hongi.
*Koha is a New Zealand Maori custom which can be translated as gift,present,offering,donation or contribution.
* Paepae is the group of speakers in a Maori meeting house.

Freeze Frame

Hello readers  In our drama class we did some freeze frame about the story of bok choy.
I belong to group 2 with David,Roberto.and kyle We showed about the story and presented different character like tree,rock.human. I was the healthy tree that support others. I enjoyed our freeze frame
because we did some activity.


TAPA ART.

In our Art class  we work an activity about Tapa cloth and design our own Tapa I choose six symbols
Lake,tree,sun,eel,basket and Heaven to the represent  the Creation of Tuna/Tuna o Runga i te Rang i.
it is a legend about the eel we watched the video and I was inspired of the story
We made the Haiku about the creation of Tuna

                                                                    The tree grow faster
                                                                 with help of  sun and the lake
                                                                  eels flows in the lake


I drew in the paper  the design and made a final drawing of the design for my tapa cloth.


We did the inking and this is my picture. We used water and colour white in inking, we let them dry and used charcoal in shading my design.By using charcoal a contrast showed on my design.I enjoyed doing this kind of Art work.

Olly's New Bike

Hello readers In our reading class i read about the story Olly's New Bike. and I can relate on the story because i just arrive new country and missed my friends and my relatives in the Philippines. but i need to adjust my self in my new home i should be happy  what my parent gave to me.

Here are some questions about the story

Describe Olly personality
Olly is a good boy and friendly
How did Olly feel when he got his new bike?
He felt sad and angry at first when he received his new bike because  it was  broken.and not a brand
new bike it came from garage sale
Why did Olly feels like that?
He felt that way sad and angry because he want a new and clean bike
Predict what would happen if Mohamed hadn't moved in next door
 Mohamed might not meet Olly who need his help with the bike and make Olly happy about it


Time line of the story
First:They move to a new house and Olly received a new bike from his mum witch she bought from              garage sale Olly is not happy he kicked the bike
Second: Olly met his new  neighbour named Mohamed. Olly met his family and he got friend Korfa                   son of Mohamed they enjoyed each other.
Third: Olly was amazed because his bike looked like new because Mohamed fix it and really look a                new one.
fourth:  Olly is thankful of what Mohamed did to his bikeand he was so happy about it.

    The boy was playing a Video games because he was bored.

AFTER THE STORM

Hello readers! In our Hurumanu class I read the story and answer questions about  the After the Storm. I like the story because it is good and It's  interesting for me the story is about family bonding The siblings were happy on the beach walking and suddenly they were scared and sad of what they saw about the kitten skull and after that they ran to their parent sand share what they saw.
  
Who is in this family?
His family are Jessie ,Sam ,Matthew, mum ,and dad.


How did Jessie feel when they found the skull? Why?
Jessie felt sad and scared when she saw the Kitten skull and Jessie ran back.


Would you have put your hand down the hole? Why/why not?
No, I don't want to put my hand on the hole because I don't know what is inside the hole it not safe for me.

What does strewn mean? Write a sentence using the word strewn.
 Strewn means untidily scattered,
There are a lot of  rubbish in the backyard.
